Las Vegas, Nevada is a city that everyone should see at least once. It is like a fantasy city and unlike any other place in the world. Las Vegas is an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. This is why the city is the host to more than thirty-five million tourists per year. Las Vegas is also one of America’s fastest growing cities. Dubbed the “Entertainment Capital of the World” the city is full of luxurious mega resorts, upper scale shopping centers, discount shopping centers, shows with the top names in show business, golf courses, tourist attractions, wedding chapels and of course online bingo game gambling. For many people, Las Vegas is all about gambling but there is much more than just gambling in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas consists of different areas with different name designations. There is the downtown area and The Strip area. The Strip is divided into the North Strip and the South Strip. There is also the Boulder Strip area and Laughlin, which isn’t far away. There is also the Las Vegas Metro area. The big mega resorts are located on The Strip, but you can gamble bingo anywhere you go, even in the grocery stores and gas stations.
Downtown Las Vegas means the Fremont Street area which is about five blocks of neon and glitter. This is an area of casino gambling halls and hotels and restaurants. This is where Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel is located, where the World Series of Poker was played. Make sure to play a few hands of Texas Hold em while you are there. The Golden Nugget is also located in this area. This is another famous hotel-casino complex. The PLAZA’s Poker Room is another place to play poker in the downtown area. It is also the area where you will find a premium quality discount outlet shopping mall and the Neon Museum. Even if you don’t stay in the downtown area, it is still a place that you want to see and try out some of the gambling in some of the local establishments.
The Strip is a separate area out by the airport. The Strip is divided into North and South. This is where all of the big famous mega resorts are located, one right next to the other. Each mega resort is pretty much self-contained with everything you need for your stay in Vegas. They design them so that you have no reason to leave them and take your gambling dollars elsewhere. Each mega resort has it all; gambling of every kind, golf, fine restaurants, shows and shopping arcades, spas, convention centers. But no trip to Vegas is complete without walking around and seeing the different hotels, even if you just walk around the lobbies and spend a few minutes trying out the gambling in several of the hotels. And if you don’t want to walk you can take the monorail. The monorail links some of the major hotels and makes getting around the area a little easier. There are also other forms of public and private transportation.
Each hotel has its own attraction. Amidst the posh environs of The Mandalay Bay you’ll find the Shark Reef and a man-made beach and lagoon for swimming and surfing. The elegant Bellagio has the water fountain and light show, reminiscent of the one on Lake Como in Italy. There is also the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens to visit in addition to a fine arts display. Caesar’s Palace, with its ambiance of ancient Rome, has the shopping center with the décor of ancient Rome. Here you’ll find the Garden of the Gods area of swimming pools amidst fountains and gardens. Circus Circus has the live circus acts in the Big Top in addition to the Adventuredome Amusement Park. The MGM Grand has the Lion Habitat and the list goes on. Drop in at Paris Las Vegas and see the Eiffel Tower, the Arc d’Triomphe. The facades and styles of the buildings will make you think that you are in Paris as you walk by the Louvre and the Paris Opera House. If you like Italy and things Italian try The Venetian Resort with its canals with the gondola rides and the shopping center called the Grand Canal Shops. Gamble at the casino in the Doges Palace. If you’re into pyramids and things Egyptian stop in at the Luxor and see the Sphinx and the Tut exhibit. The Egyptian theme prevails from the lobby to the restaurants. These are only a few of the resorts along The Strip. Each new resort tries to outdo the other so it is really a sight to see and experience, unlike any other on earth. |
